Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
