England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
