Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the pair.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt ready to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, adding that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles court official decided to prevent the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive put a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" associated with the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Aftermath and Reactions

In the wake of the killings, public figures expressed varying comments.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making divisive claims that were broadly criticized by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the critics recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan characterized the comments as "disappointing" and remarked they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an aide should have stepped in when the impulse to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
