A few matches with them and I suffered the ACL injury.
“It was a huge blow but I look back on it as a turning point because it forced me to alter the way I saw things. Healing from a serious ailment is hard, but it aids growth. You develop habits new to you. Previously I was casual, but I did the sessions and then return home, like when you’re a kid. At the complex, all resources are available, so utilize it all. Training, prehab. Hit the weights. With hip imbalance, address that. With decent ankle function, make it a 12 or a 14. All those ‘silly things’: perform them.
“Among professionals you’re going to collide with opponents who have been in battles repeatedly. Extremely powerful. Reviewing old images: my legs are chicken legs. Thus incidents occur. Look at pictures of me now and it’s totally different. Injury made me see that. Practice concludes, but further effort is needed. Peers are prepared, really ready; you have to be too.”
Minutes are crucial. The striker moved in tears in that year, at 23 years old, joining the second tier. During his Sabadell spell in that season, he got three strikes in forty appearances. With Amorebieta in the second half of 2021-22, the goals started to flow. “Many experience this: temporary moves, ended deals. If you turn it round, effort, faith, and when eventually a vacancy arises in your position, recall is possible. Readiness is vital. Upon the recall, it was a dream come true. The trophy success, play in Europe, and reach the Champions League … pfff.”
